- Monday night I went for drinks with my friends Ryan and Tammy at Houlihan's right after work. We ended up staying there for almost three hours because we were having so much fun ranting about stuff.
- Last night my ex-husband came over for dinner so the three of us could talk about the possibility of Kyle walking home from school. The three of us voiced our concerns (after talking about how much more responsible Kyle has been in the last few weeks and congratulating him on that) about age, responsibility, and the obvious dangers. After a while, we concluded that as long as he has a couple of other kids to walk home with, he will be fine. So, I need to call one of our neighbors to verify that their kids are walking home from school this year and see if Kyle can join them. If not, we'll all talk again.
- Michael and I are going to go to a Royals game with cousins Josh and Maria this evening. We're supposed to meet at the P&L for dinner and drinks before heading over to the game. We're keeping our fingers crossed that it's not raining this evening (80% chance of thunderstorms) so we can have a little baseball fun.
- Tomorrow evening Kyle will have a make-up Mui Thai lesson followed by his regularly scheduled piano lesson. I'm going to lunch with Andrea to catch up - haven't seen her in ages. I also need to do my last training run before the 5k. Michael is leaving town for Chris's bachelor party at the lake. He went to Costco last night to stock up on brats, burgers, hot dogs, cheese, and buns.
- Friday is soccer practice from 6:30 to 8:00 - that entire evening is shot.
- Saturday starts with soccer practice from 9:30 to 11:00. Kyle wants to go do something fun for the rest of the day, like play at the pool or walk around the zoo. I am planning on doing as little as possible (other than drinking water) so I'll be ready for the 5k on Sunday.
- Sunday morning I need to be at Brad & Jenny's house at 6:00 am so we call car-pool down to the race. Brad has oh-so-kindly agreed to fall back and run with me for this race. He's in the middle of training for a marathon, so he's not going to be running this 5k seriously. As he put it, he'll get behind me to push me across the finish line. My goal is to finish in 30 minutes, give or take a minute.
