So busy...
Everything can get so busy without you even noticing. I'm swamped at work (which I have to get back to in a few minutes because my lunch break is almost over), there's always cleaning to do at home on top of meals to prepare, shopping to be done, homework to help with (soon I'll have my own homework), kids to spend time with, family to visit and keep in touch with, friends to keep in touch with... You know what I mean because everyone has this stuff. It's nothing new, I just felt like commenting on it because I found myself with three minutes left on my lunch break while looking at a pile of stuff sitting on my desk waiting for my attention.

Horribly lax in my blogging...
Okay, I've been horrible about blogging. The bad news is that I've been bad about everything lately. Cleaning my house, exercising, eating right, drinking water, etc. But, this is a new week. All I can do is look forward.
We all need some focus right now - the company that Michael work(ed) for has closed. They announced Friday (9/26) afternoon that they would be closing their doors for good at the end of the day. There are a lot of ways that this is frustrating, and I won't get into all of it here for many reasons. Suffice it to say that we are fairly stressed and a bit worried. We keep reminding ourselves that we have a good emergency fund in place (assuming that all banks and money markets don't go under in the coming weeks/months), which is more than can be said about a lot of his (former) co-workers.
So, because I have been bad about exercise for the last few weeks, I'm going to go back to walking for a couple of weeks to make sure that I have a really solid base built up for running. I'll be walking on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, and doing yoga on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Well, I'll do yoga on at least one Sunday because I told Ryan that I would take him to the athletic club to the yoga class so he could try it with a group.
I also want to work in some biking. Michael is going to borrow his brother's bike for a bit so we can go together. I'll try to pull a Mandy and take a few pictures on our ride(s). Everything is pretty and green right now (thank you moderate rain from the hurricanes).

Great trip...
Okay, I know that it's been a while since I posted anything (for the three people that occasionally read this blog), but I have a good excuse! I was in Oregon from the 6th through the 15th without internet access. None. Zip. Zilch. I could have carried my laptop down to the local pizza joint to take advantage of their free wi-fi, but with Oktoberfest, I didn't want to fight the crowds.
It was a packed week, including a birthday/going away party for my sister (turned 40) and nephew (joined the Navy, left for basic training yesterday), Oktoberfest activities, and a drive down to the town where I grew up. I think that Michael is still in shock after seeing how tiny Butte Falls is. Overall, it was a great trip.
I promise that I'll post some pictures when I get home tonight. Right now I need to wrap this up and finish my lunch so I can get back to work in a few minutes. Catching up after being on vacation for 10 days is a pain...
